Washburn Releases PDF Print E-mail

After fears of releases being suspended, Yorkshire Water have now confirmed that the next Washburn release will go ahead on Sunday 1st August. As ever, please refer to the Washburn information line for future events, more details and updates: 0845 833 8654.

 
Canal Restrictions PDF Print E-mail

Occasionally, canals, rivers and towpaths are closed for maintenance work. A list of all stoppages on British Waterways and Environment Agency navigations can be found on the Waterscape website.  As well as stoppages for planned maintenance or emergency repairs, it lists temporary restrictions (when navigations remain open with restrictions in place), towpath closures and local navigation advice.

 
Ure Access Suspended PDF Print E-mail

Will all clubs/paddlers please note that due to various breaches of the Access Agreement by one party, the landowners have cancelled the access agreement for Hack Falls to Sleningford.  As Access Officer for the Ure I am in further discussion with the landowner.

Leeds Waterfront Festival PDF Print E-mail
White Rose Canoe Club are running a 'Come & Try' canoeing event at the Leeds Waterfront Festival on 17th & 18th July 2010.  It's a chance to come and have a go at canoeing, and also enjoy other activities that are running as part of the festival.  It will take place at Clarence Dock in Leeds City Centre (near the Royal Armouries) from 11am-5pm each day.
 
Great Yorkshire Show PDF Print E-mail

Canoe England and members of the Yorkshire team were at the Great Yorkshire Show from 13th-15th July. More than a hundred people each day took part in the ergo challenge to test their skill and time in a 100 metre sprint.
