If anyone is interested in helping the Calder and Colne Rivers Trust (CCRT) in their work with urban rivers, there is a launch meeting for a new group – the “Friends of CCRT” at Brighouse Civic Hall on Thursday 31st. May at 7.30 pm (tea and biscuits beforehand). There is further information on the CCRT website, on Facebook or contact the Friends of the CCRT coordinator

'Around Ireland with a fridge Magnet' |

Two Yorkshire Sea paddlers, Pete and Wendy Bridgstock are about to embark on a mammoth expedition circumnavigating Ireland in Sea Kayaks. They plan to start their journey on the 5th May from Dún Laoghaire heading south. Their journey will involve paddling over 1000 miles around Ireland's coast and from start to finish will take 2-3 months to complete.

Yorkshire 2012 Sprint Series |

A series of four sprint regattas are being held in Yorkshire aimed at getting people interested in sprint racing. Races will be held over 50m, 100m and 200m with Adult and Youth categories. (Youth will be split by age group)

As you know you can get the Washburn release dates from the Yorcie website. However, this just shows the intended schedule for the year. But what you can't get if the definitive answer on whether it will be a released on any given date. The only certain way to ascertain that, is to ring the regions info telephone information line 0845 833 8654 which is bang up to date. Dates not included in the recorded information are not guaranteed.
Please ring the info line before you travel and anyway up to 7 days before to confirm.

The grants can be used to help improve or develop facilities or projects at your club. These grant applications can be for up to £10,000 which I am sure would make a significant impact at your club.

The Tees Barrage is now open again after a £4.6m refurbishment. The brand new short course is one of the steepest in the UK with its 3.7m descent. The site is suitable for experienced paddlers, and is located in Stockton-on-Tees.
