The Coaching Bursary is providing funding for UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) endorsed sports. UKCC is an endorsement of coach education programmes across sports within the UK set against agreed criteria including:
advance coach education programmes and practices
support the development of coaching as a profession
require a commitment to review and develop existing programmes and practices
Funding is available to help County Activity Assessors gain the qualifications and attend technical update workshops that they require to hold their Assessor posts. This funding pays 50% of the course fees for National Governing Body Courses leading to qualifications required for the role of County Assessor. It also nows pays 50% of travel costs for these courses from 1st July 2008. In return for this funding, Assessors are required to carry out their role for a minimum of two years. Applications for this funding should be sent to Gilwell Park using the application form available below.
Details of the NGB qualifications required to be a County Assessor, and therefore the qualifications that funding is available for, are listed on pages 3 and 4 of the factsheet FS120104 Adventurous Activity Permit Scheme - Approved Assessors. Update workshops are defined in the same factsheet.
