UKCC Level 1 Coaching Certificate
Want to become a paddlesport coach then this is the course for you. This is the first step into coaching. This is for anybody that is interested in encouraging others into paddlesport. This a fully residential 4 day course split over two weekends, based at Aldwark Scout Activity Centre on the River Ure. As a level 1 coach you can deliver taster sessions and assist higher level coaches. The minimum age for this course is 18 years. The second part of the course will be March 31st/April 1st

BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT)
The Foundation Safety and Rescue Training, (FRST), is the replacement for the old BCU Canoe Safety Test. The objective of this course is to learn the simple and safe skills used in the canoeing and kayaking environment. The course is for paddlers or coaches irrespective of their chosen craft and can either be boat based or bank based to suit coaches. The FRST is also a pre-requisite or can be taken as part of the BCU UKCC L1 Coach Course.

UKCC BCU Level 2 Coach Assessment
This one day assessment course, you will be assessed on your coaching of developing people to the sport and coaching at the foundation / progressive level. You will provide your own personal equipment and be assessed in a sheltered flat-water venue It will be an all day assessment of coaching Kayak and canoe sessions. You portfolio will need submitting 2 weeks before your assessment and you will need to provide 4 candidates for your coaching sessions.

Canoeing 4 Kayakers
Tailored to the needs of the individual within the group, this will be a weekend devoted to getting you confident in a canoe and paddling with a single blade. A course option will be both the 1 star and a fast track 2 star tests* (for those who need it and subject to the candidate acquiring the necessary techniques). If you are really a kayaker (or a kayaking coach) and the new UKCC scheme has overtaken you and you want (or need) to know how to Canoe, then this is your starting point.
