Canoe Polo is similar to 5 aside football... ...but in kayaks.
Teams of five paddlers compete to score goals in a suspended net, 2m above the water, the ball being thrown by hand or 'flicked' with the paddle. Pitches can be set up either in swimming pools or on any stretch of flat water.
The Yorkshire region has a thriving system of leagues with tournaments going on throughout the year. There are 3 open divisions and 2 youth leagues. To find out more about this exciting sport contact
