The site (Lot 2 on the map below) is a 2.5 acre (1 hectare) grass paddock located east of North Bridge, bordering North Bridge Road and Magdalens Road in Ripon. It has a private gated entrance and access to the river.

There is easy access to the road network with the A61 Ripon Bypass adjacent to the site.

In low-medium water, there is shingle beach providing easy access to water from the river bank.

Bridges on the upstream and downstream edges of the site provide interest and moving water features that can be used to develop river paddling skills.
