The river Washburn is located between Thruscross and Fewston reservoirs.
The map below shows the route from the A59 at Blubberhouses to the car park at the start of the course, immediately below Thruscross dam.
Historically, the 'get out' was on the other side of the A59 adjacent to the public car park.
The Washburn Committee have now purchased the 'Wood Yard' and this now the preferred exit route from the river, with safe egress and ample car parking for canoeists.
